Teachers Teaching Teachers

Friday, April 25th, early years teachers gathered at Sansome School to learn about different ways technology is being used to support learning in classrooms.
Teachers had a chance to share and discuss how they are connecting their classrooms locally and globally, using technology to gather data for instruction and how different Apps allow for differentiated instruction & inclusion, and much, much more!
In grade groups, teachers shared and created new ideas on ways that technology can help support great teaching and learning that is happening in our classrooms.
As teachers, we know that when students start modelling and teaching their understanding to other students, the learning for each increases. This is also true for teachers. Sharing and collaborating with colleagues is a powerful way for teachers to create together, learn from one another and reflect on their teaching.
We also had a chance to listen to Darren Kuropatwa's presentation on our 'Digital Footprint.' Darren shared with us some of the amazing ideas students are developing through technology and how we can use these examples to model appropriate use of technology. As teachers, we are preparing students to be citizens in a democratic society. Along the way, people make mistakes but as teachers we can use some of these moments to teach and improve understanding. This photo is from Darren's slide show.
As we continue our iPad journey, there will be some hicups and teachable moments that allow us all to reflect and grow as learners, together.
